Ralph Gibson

Ralph Gibson Ralph Gibson has a way of photographing the subconscious and sometimes that is appealing to my mind because that is another way I take my own pictures, especially the photos I took in digital because my creative style is very different in digital photography.  After exploring his photo style I have realized a bunch of his photos show depressive thoughts of a human mind or things that can be interpreted as depression which again is something that attracts me visually. I think sometimes I can get bored of the current photography and some of the older stuff has more meaning than back then.  I have been exposed to different types of photography which will continue to boost my skills.

Micheal Keena

Micheal Kenna Micheal Kenna was a minimalist with his photography work and focused on compositions with a long focus. I like his work because he is a minimalist and sometimes the pictures I take are very minimal with the details attached. I have a weird style of photography that I am into because sometimes it can be filled with many things and the photo looks crazy and sometimes I can just focus on one thing and call it a day.  After exploring Micheal I found this photo he took and I found it very interesting as I have suffered with my own depression and anxiety issues and sometimes you feel alone and this picture spoke to me because I do feel alone sometimes but I do realize I have many friends and family members that are in my corner and support me through anything. He has even one of my favorite photographers I have explored so far in this class.

Lee Friedlander

Lee Friedlander Lee was a photographer from the '60s and '70s that focused on shadows through light and composition. Lee's photos were unique because they have such different vibes of what life was like in the 60s and 70s and how he gets his shadows just right. I have inserted a picture I like and I'll explain why I like it. This photo is unique because of the city skyline and how the lines are in the photo, it has a unique way of how the light hits the building but how the darkness of the car is still exposed in a unique way that makes this photo visually appealing. Lee Friedlander has really good way of showing light and composition.
