Abelardo Morell

Image
Abelardo Morell  Abelardo Morell was born in Havana, Cuba and immigrated to the United States with his parents in 1962. Abe has a very unique styles of photos that are mostly in black and white and some look like constructed images because of how he took photos and how he put them together. Abe brings the nostalgia out in pictures because of how you look at it can bring back happiness to a person.  I inserted this image from Abe because I thought it reminds us of childhood and how it makes a person happy because a happy home and happy vibe is important to be able to understand these images in the series but some people will interpret it differently. I like his multiple choices in series because he hits all different aspects of photography and whoever likes nostalgia and composted photos would like Abe and like to study him and his images.

Alec Soth

Alec Soth Alec Soth is an American photographer focusing on the midwestern United States showing off people in their natural habitats. Alec Soth has a unique way of taking photos because depending on what the he is taking for photos it shows a vibe that is unique and can draw people into viewing more and more of his pictures.  Alec Soth did a whole series on peoples life and got these interesting backgrounds to be able to express what they are in life and it brings a whole different life to the photo. I love this series because he has inspired a lot of my photos because I've wanted to pursue this type of photography, Alec soth continues to make different unique albums as I have been looking through his website to see his recent work. His recent work looks more like what I have grown into with photography.

Constructed Images

Image
Constructed Images  Constructed images are unique because it can make a boring photo into something you wouldn't be able to imagine or even help to bring awareness to something. It is basically the concept to be able to manipulate someone into thinking that is real which can be bad and good at the same depending on what the photo is.  I like this photo I found on the internet because it reminds me of trying to get over depression and there is always something blooming to make you feel happier on the other side.  This photo also is gloomy but has some areas that are lit up to give us an idea this is trying to show us something

My visual approach 3-26

My Visual Approach For my phonebook assignment, my approach was to be able to show how anxiety and depression can make a person do things and explain the backside of what a person will go through. I have been struggling my whole life with depression and anxiety issues and it has affected the things I go through on a daily life and sometimes affects relationships with family and friends.  I wanted to approach this project in a way where someone could understand the basics of anxiety and depression and help someone be aware of the things they go through because everyone battles differently in today's world. I didn't have a photographer till the end of my project but I wanted this blog to be able to show what I was trying to come across.  Depression and Anxiety are no joke so that is something that will continue to need awareness everyday and end all the stigmas around mental health.  - I am turning this in late because this was the week I was out of school due to my family situ

Hiroshi Sugimoto

Image
Hiroshi Sugimoto Hiroshi Sugimoto is a Japanese photographer who bases a lot of his photos in black and white and empty spaces which can be very appealing to many people as that can be a sign for many things. I do love the empty spaces because you are able to feel an atmosphere which can be sad in most vibes.  I have never looked at his photos nor heard about him but I think this goes well with a lot of my views and image inspiration because I focus on depression or a big cause around a lot of my photos so I am able to connect with him as I view his photos. I have inserted a photo of the empty movie theater because I think as I am feeling depression it connects with me because I am inspired by how satisfying this empty space is and how I am connected to it.

Jeff Wall

Image
Jeff Wall Jeff Wall is known for his chromatic images but most importantly his 1993 image gust of wind. The gust of wind post was important because we are able to see how he was able to edit the paper into his picture making it a unique photograph. Our assignment is a constructed image and we are able to see the constructed image in his photo but being able to see him four times and different emotions within the photo.  The coloring in this photo is unique and just the environment itself because it really does show how the 90s were and how it could see different people in the 90s and the reactions to paper being in the sky. I would like to create something similar but this photo is very unique.

Anne Lebowitz

Image
Portrait  I wrote a blog on Annie Lebowitz before in Digital One because I liked her unique style of photography. I think the things she takes pictures of are people are very important and show how powerful people are in those photos.  Anne Lebowitz took photos of Queen Elizabeth and I love that photo because it makes Queen Elizabeth look like the strong powerful lady she was before she passed away. Queen Elizabeth had very many hardships while she was queen so this photo really expresses how powerful and amazing she is. This is the photo that I saw that attracted me to Anne's work. In this photo it is dark and gloomy but the photo shows like I said power. I wrote before that I loved her Rolling Stones pictures because she made the band look amazing and would show the powerfulness of the band. I would like to mimic her style in the future because I get inspired by the creativity she shows in her work. She also has a spooky aspect to her photos but again that is following through
