  These are my two photos for the Lycoming College photo contest! I like the first one because of just the happiness you can see in the two boys in the picture. The second one you can see two friends laughing and having a great conversation!

  Steve McCurry      Steve McCurry is a photographer who takes a lot of images in India. In India, there is so much poverty which is very depressing to look at the many images he takes. Even though some of his picture are depressing they have a really good story line behind the image. He wants to bring awareness to the world and show us that not everyone has the luxuries we do. As Americans we are very blessed with the land and food and everything we have. We don't realize that there is other countries that would beg for even half of what we get.  Steve has also photographed for National Geographic to help also show the world his message. I think that's amazing since National Geographic has a big following of many people who would love to help the world. Steve has also taken pictures of many wars and has also died in India for some of his amazing pictures.  This picture speaks to me because of just the hand prints of people that need to be helped in India. The Meaning of Photography By: Olivia Butler  Photography is a beautiful art that so many people can do different things with but everyone has different reasons of what it means to them. To me it makes me think of the ways I can capture the moments that make people happy or just how unique something looks in the world. Like in the article by Heiferman when people try to say that photography has to be a certain way.. the answer to that is no it does not. There are so many pictures that I have seen that try to bring the same point across but the photographer has different ways to do so. That brings me to also mention Heiferman say that we respond to photos in different ways because of the different events in life.  As I was growing up and getting more into photography I loved to take pictures of my sister in all the events she has gone through.
